I like to write for various media, and aim to shine a different light on dealing with nature and animals, or let the connection with nature shine through. Examples:
- the letter of the day in the Volkskrant or letter of the day in de Standaard
- numerous papers at AnimalsToday
- papers in nature magazines, like about rooks
- a chapter in the book 'Dierzaamheid'

For several authors, I have been working on the biological-content check. I take great pleasure in doing so, analysing the most recent scientific publications as much as possible. Writing is a profession in its own right. I have a great affinity for children's books that take children by the hand to be amazed by the natural world around them. Examples are:
Lectures and lessons
Er zijn zoveel boeiende onderwerpen om over te vertellen! Ik doe dat graag en mijn lezingen lardeer ik met toegankelijke, goed te begrijpen anekdotes. Ik daag het publiek ook uit “out of the box” te denken. Geweldig leuk om goede vragen te krijgen en te merken dat de raderen aan het draaien zijn bij een ieder. Lezingen heb ik verzorgd voor musea, gemeentes en provincies, veehouders, organisaties zoals House of Animals, Probus, Vrouwen van Nu of politieke partijen incl. in het Europees Parlement. Daarnaast heb ik ook diverse lezingen gehouden op verschillende wetenschappelijke congressen.
Lesgeven is een van mijn passies. Ik geef gastlessen in de major Toegepaste Biologie aan de Aeres Hogeschool in Almere en de studenten Biologie en Bio-techniek aan de universiteit van Ljubljana (Slovenië)

Wherever possible, the work is organised in such a way that scientific analysis and review is possible.
Rooks
In the field of rooks, however, it is proving difficult to find a suitable journal with an interest in the nesting choice of rooks.
Geese
We did publish scientifically about the experience with geese and the supply of white clover. For example, on the preference for clover and about the soil enrichment by clover.
Wolves
Already in 2013 hebben we ons vergelijkend onderzoek gepubliceerd naar het verschil tussen 30 Sloveense schapenhouders die wel problemen met wolven ervaren en 30 die geen problemen hebben met wolven. Belangrijk resultaat was dat ’s nachts ophokken het probleem vermindert en een mix van geiten en schapen de kans op een aanval vergroot in vergelijk met een kudde met alleen schapen. Ook blijkt een elektrisch hekwerk niet effectief.
In 2021 we surveyed loners in the Netherlands. This showed that 1 in 5 identified wolves do not kill sheep. Since most wolves are identified by killing sheep, certainly more than 20% are wolves that do not kill sheep. The second important fact was that the behaviour of German parents predicts whether or not the loner kills sheep or comes near people.
Seals
The importance of routine development in the development of problems does not only apply to land-living animals. Similar principles are at play with seals, and the challenge is to properly assess which senses are used in the process. Aquaculture often encounters the problem of seals killing fish. Instead of killing the seals, the experience of these animals can be changed in such a way that a solution is found and coexistence becomes more possible. Together with marine biologists, a paper has been written about this topic.
In addition, in a publication in the field of immunology and parasitology of seals we co-authored and performed the statistical analyses.
